COMPOSITION OF A LOCAL PWOC BOARD

For your reading pleasure. ::snort:: Seriously, this is good stuff to know and is FRESH from the NEW PWOCI WOMEN'S MINISTRY MANUAL! I'm going to start posting small bites for your prayerful consideration.

1. The composition of the board is based on the needs of the local installation; not every installation will have every board position.

2. A full board – known as the Joint Board – is composed of selected officers and appointed ministry team leaders (formerly committee ―chairs or chairpersons). {Betsy, you don't have to be a Prayer Chair ever again. ::grin::}

3. The selected officers, who make up the Executive Board, may include the following: President, 1st Vice President-Spiritual Life, 2nd Vice President-Programs, Administrative Coordinator and Financial Liaison.

4. The ministry team leaders may include the following (listed in alphabetical order): Historian, Hospitality, Leadership Selection, Outreach/Inreach, Participation, Praise and Worship, Prayer, Publicity, Retreat/Special Events, Titus II Advisor(s), Watchcare/Nursery Liaison, Women’s Ministry Coordinator(s) (a new position as of the 2009/2010 local term of office) and any other deemed necessary by the President and the Board.

5. When a local PWOC cannot or does not wish to fill all of the above positions, the first three positions they should fill are President, Administrative Coordinator and Spiritual Life (in that order). The board can then assign the tasks that they deem necessary from other positions to the appropriate officer.

Note: A group is not considered to be a PWOC unless it has at least two officers.

Note: In start-up or very small PWOC groups, the President and Administrative Coordinator may be selected by the PWOC Chaplain and then any other Executive Board officers appointed by the President.

Ladies, I believe that God is doing great things in our midst. Our numbers are higher than Emma ever remembers them being(12 - 20). We have a consistent age range from 19 - Seasoned Citizen. Greater than numbers, we've had FUN studying the Word together and we've become sisters and friends. I don't believe God is going to quit working in PWOC at Goodfellow because of PCS rotations and schedules. He's bigger than that. Ask God to birth HIS vision for PWOC at Goodfellow in your heart. Please make next year's leadership a matter of prayer - even if you don't attend chapel and only come up for PWOC. The selected leadership is important to the future of PWOC.

As you can see....the Executive Board does need at least two women who are active participants in the chapel. If you are one who is being tugged, pray about it, discuss it with your family, and contact De'Etta. If you do NOT attend the chapel...there are still lots of ways you can serve in PWOC. Please ask God if there is some way you can help the group next year. Maybe you'll commit to arriving early and setting up chairs, or maybe you'll arrange for refreshments freeing Emma up to take on another task, maybe you can volunteer to give a testimony or lead a Bible Study....teach a craft class or plan a Ladies Road Trip....

2009/2010 Verse

"But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; who once were not a people but are now the people of God, who had not obtained mercy but now have obtained mercy."

Secret Sister Summer

For the summer, we exchanged cards in order to pray for one another and to anonymously encourage one another.

Please lift your Secret Sister up in prayer daily. Feel free to send her cards, verses, funnies, whatever the Lord moves you to do. But remember... Keep it anonymous!

At the Fall Kick-off we will find out who are Secret Sisters are so we can thank them and follow up on those goals and prayers!

"My purpose in writing is to encourage you and assure you that what you are experiencing is truly part of God's grace for you. Stand firm in this grace." 1 Peter 5v12

Note from Christina on June 9~
Hello Sweet Sisters!

How is your summer going so far? Are you finding sweet notes of hope and love from your Secret Sister? Are you remembering to share hope and love with your Secret Sister? Here we are, already into June. This summer will fly by before we know it, and yet the time will have been mostly separated from our Sisters! Remember to lift her up in your prayers, and as time allows, please try to send her a token of your love in Christ for her!

God bless you, Ladies! Our Lord is moving within our group! See you all, very very soon!
